Women’s Writing Retreat at Point Reyes | April 10-12 | Only 8 Spots!

Imagine if you stopped thinking about writing and just started writing.
What if you had an entire weekend with nothing to do but write, walk windswept beaches, eat extraordinary food, and rest deeply? No emails. No errands. No explaining yourself to anyone.
Only 8 spots available. Several returnees from last year have already claimed theirs.
Steal away to Point Reyes for a transformative weekend of writing, renewal, and radical rest—surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, kindred writers, and meals so good they become part of the memory.
A Place Where Words Flow Naturally
Nestled between rolling hills and the Pacific Ocean at Point Reyes National Seashore, you’ll wake to ocean breezes and fall asleep to waves. Hiking trails start at your doorstep. Limantour Beach—perfect for shell collecting, sunset watching, and the kind of restorative beach walks that untangle your thoughts—is just minutes away.
Spring at Point Reyes teaches what we already know but forget: renewal is inevitable. Wildflowers bloom, birds return, life persists. This weekend is an invitation to tap into that same force within yourself—to write, rest, and witness your own emerging story.
As night falls, experience star-filled skies uncompromised by city lights. This is 36 hours entirely yours for writing and reflection—a sanctuary to disconnect from everyday distractions and reconnect with your creative practice and yourself.
Rest isn’t indulgent. It’s essential. And sometimes the most rebellious thing you can do is give yourself permission to slow down, breathe deeply, and let the ocean do half the work of restoring you.
What the Weekend Holds
Think summer camp for grown-ass writers, but with incredible meals and no one telling you what to do.
Meesha Halm, founder of Free-Range Writing—a radically supportive women’s writing community—handles every detail. From cozy accommodations to locally-sourced meals, you can immerse yourself fully in writing and rest without distractions. This is your time.
Four guided writing sessions where you’ll write unapologetically, surprise yourself on the page, and read aloud what you’ve written in a circle of supportive listeners. No critique. No fixing. Just honest creative expression and the transformative power of being truly heard.
A sunset ritual Friday evening to set intentions and mark this time as sacred.
Incredible, locally-sourced meals that people rave about. Friday and Saturday dinners, breakfasts, lunches, and snacks—all included.
The company of like-minded women writers who understand that creativity requires both solitude and community.
Beach time, nap time, wandering time—because rest is resistance. Your best writing might emerge after a long beach walk where you thought about nothing. Or after an afternoon nap. Or after doing absolutely nothing at all. Permission granted.
Overnight lodging at Limantour Lodge (already sold out to the public) with hiking trails to the beach right outside your door.
From the moment you arrive Friday afternoon until you reluctantly pack up Sunday, every detail is handled. Park your car and forget about it. No cooking, no cleaning, no logistics. Just write, rest, walk, eat, and breathe. When was the last time you allowed yourself that?
This Retreat Is For You If:
- You’re intimidated by the blank page (we all are sometimes)
- You feel called to write, but can’t seem to get your butt in the chair
- You’re curious what will emerge when you give yourself time and space to write
- You’re facing a difficult challenge and want a supportive place to explore your emotions
- You’re overwhelmed by these times and urgently need rest and renewal
- Nature is your muse—your creativity flows when surrounded by it
Whatever brings you here—whether you’re just beginning your writing journey or are a published writer—you’ll find yourself among friends who understand that every writer needs both solitude and community to thrive.
Your Home for the Weekend

Limantour Lodge is the only overnight accommodation within Point Reyes National Seashore—and it’s already sold out to the general public for 2026. I’ve reserved the private Laguna Creek House and Meadow Suites exclusively for our intimate group. Several spots are already filled by returning participants.
Hiking trails lead directly to Limantour Beach from your door. Morning coffee with valley views. Afternoon beach walks. Evening stargazing. This is one of the Bay Area’s most stunning natural sanctuaries—and it’s yours for the weekend.
The LEED-certified Laguna House offers:
- Large communal kitchen where coffee and conversation flow freely
- Dining room for shared meals and late-night discussions
- Living room perfect for curling up with your notebook
- Outdoor porch with valley views that inspire new perspectives
All rooms have access to the Laguna House, where our writing sessions unfold. It’s a modern, relaxed space exclusively ours for the weekend—swap stories, enjoy the views, and be in community.

About Free-Range Writing
Free-Range Writing is a liberating, timed-writing practice that helps you bypass your inner critic and access the stories waiting inside you. During the retreat, we’ll use this process to uncover, awaken, and reclaim your stories in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Through poetry-inspired prompts and supportive structure, you’ll write unapologetically—pen moving across the page while your mind roams freely.
After each writing period, we gather in circle. One by one, each person reads what they’ve written while others practice generous, silent listening. No critique. No workshopping. No fixing. Just the power of being witnessed as you courageously share your words.
We’ll do this four times over the weekend, going deeper with each round. Most people find the sharing—being truly heard without judgment—to be the most transformative part of the experience.
What Retreat Participants Say
“Meesha’s writing retreat is as transformative as it is soul-filling. Guided by her extraordinary wisdom and presence, she creates a nourishing container for all parts of you to be heard, seen, and witnessed.
Meesha is not just a beautiful witness to our journeys—she’s an expert at unblocking the creative fire within each of us, drawing out what wants to emerge.
The community of women Meesha attracts—from across decades of life experience and many backgrounds—forms a supportive, loving atmosphere and is a testament to the wise and safe spaces she cultivates.
This is not just for writers. This is a pathway to healing, expression, and finally hearing your own words that have been longing to come out.”
— Amie T., 2025 retreat participant
“This was totally out of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I did it. I had an emotional release I didn’t know I needed. I feel compelled to get the journal out and continue writing. My resistance to writing is generally due to my perfectionism, so the Free-Range Writing was liberating. Thank you for providing and encouraging this new outlet.”
— Jennifer B.
