Last month’s Write Fit writing salon was all about home. What this city has cost us, given back to us, and everything in between. I moved here 37 years ago with a journal and a chef’s knife. I came to cook. I stayed to write.
✍️ 6:30–8:00 PM — Wild Writing Workshop with Meesha Halm, Writing Coach & Story Doula, and Founder of Free-Range Writing Circles
The Write Fit writing salon is not your ordinary Wednesday night in the Mission. Each month or so, a small group of women gathers around a table to write and connect. Using guided prompts to loosen even the most stubborn writer’s block, we write unapologetically, surprise ourselves on the page, and connect with others doing the same. No critique. No pressure. Just honest words and shared discovery, and radical support.
If you’ve ever wanted to write but felt intimidated, short on time, or struggled to start, this writing salon is for you—no experience needed. Whether you’ve never written before or feel called to return to the page, this structure helps you move past hesitation and get writing.
How The Writing Salon Works
Two writing periods inspired by poetry and prompts. I read a poem or short piece, offer a jump-off line, and you write—pen moving steadily to bypass your inner critic. After writing, we share what we’ve written in a supportive, critique-free space. Most people find this the most powerful part.
Your writing can go wherever it needs to go: SF is the jumping-off point, not the destination.
What to Bring:
Notebook, your favorite pen, curiosity, and an open mind. We’ll supply the creative inspiration.
👗 8:00 PM — Lemon Twist Shopping Salon
The workshop may be full, but the evening isn’t over. After 8:00 PM, drop by Lemon Twist for shopping, a drink, and conversation. No RSVP required — everyone welcome. Explore timeless tailoring + local flair that fits your story at Lemon Twist, where sharp minds find sharp tailoring. Connect with fellow writers and shop small in the heart of the Mission.
