Welcome to Free-Range Writing
A writing practice for women who want to write their way back to themselves and towards each other.

Ways To Be In The Work
You don’t need to choose just one way in. Most women move between these spaces over time, stepping into a seasonal circle, dropping in when life allows, or working privately when they need closer support.
Seasonal Writing Circles
Multi-week writing containers that move through a shared arc. We read together, write together,
and build a temporary but real writing community. The most immersive way to work together.

Drop-In Writing Circles
Open sessions you can step into at any time. No commitment, no arc — just a place to return to your writing when you need it.

Work With Me on Your Book or Writing Project
“Meesha’s Free-Range Writing circle brought me back to my center, and my self as I navigated the oceanic waters of early mamahood. I’m so grateful to her, her magic, and this group that she’s gathered. Get yourself a pen and paper, and write alongside her!”
I came to this work from both sides. I spent 25 years as a professional writer and editor, working at HarperCollins, Zagat, and on 35+ award-winning books, before cancer introduced me to expressive writing at the UCSF Cancer Center and changed everything I thought I knew about what writing was for. I completed my Wild Writing™ teacher training with founder Laurie Wagner, and I’ve been holding circles for women ever since. I also edited Art That Heals (UC Press, 2024) and wrote an essay for it. It’s
called Both Sides Now.
